Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B- to prove it.

The war room fell hard for Kai Kroeger, and it showed at the 206th overall pick: 74 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Parrish. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In slot 30 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick62 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at pick 62 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick109 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
They paid sticker price for Billy Bowman Jr. in pick No. 109, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick132 Rnd4 Tory Horton
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tory Horton in No. 132, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten at the 169th overall pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jacob Parrish
Taking Jacob Parrish in the 170th pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at the 173rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick177 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in slot 177 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick206 Rnd6 Kai Kroeger
A big swing on Kai Kroeger at No. 206, well ahead of any board in the building. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
