You can hear the double-takes from here. The 49ers took Jonah Monheim at Round 4, Pick 36, roughly 34 spots before his name belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Bond to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
