Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Giants: B-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Giants spent Round 4, Pick 3 on Cody Simon, a name most had 24 spots down the list. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Landing Allen that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
In the 3rd pick they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Josh Simmons
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Josh Simmons in pick 34. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick65 Rnd3 Alfred Collins
Value with a capital V on Alfred Collins in the 65th overall pick, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick99 Rnd3 Will Howard
Will Howard at Round 3, Pick 35 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Cody Simon
Cody Simon at slot 105 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick154 Rnd5 LeQuint Allen
Circle this one: LeQuint Allen at the Round 5 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick219 Rnd7 Robert Longerbeam
Robert Longerbeam at the 219th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick246 Rnd7 Logan Parr
Logan Parr in No. 246 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
