Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Steelers.

Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending Round 2, Pick 19 on Zach Frazier with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots still wide open. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If Proctor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In the 20th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback. More want than need.
Pick51 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending Round 2, Pick 19 on Zach Frazier with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots unsolved.
Pick84 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at pick 84 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick120 Rnd4 Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler at the 120th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick121 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at No. 121 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick197 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at slot 197 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick238 Rnd7 Tayvion Robinson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tayvion Robinson in the Round 7 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
