Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Steelers: B-.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Steelers never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.

On value alone, Proctor makes the weekend a net positive. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

The back end got a real overhaul. A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In pick No. 20 they get an island corner at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
A straight-up fair deal on Braden Fiske at the 52nd pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick84 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at Round 3, Pick 20 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Sataoa Laumea. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick121 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
They took Tyler Davis at par in slot 121, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick201 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson slipping to No. 201 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick230 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
A tidy bit of business in the 230th overall pick, where Josh Proctor graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick238 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace in pick 238 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
