You could see the war room lean forward. Tahj Brooks at pick No. 245 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Rivers has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
