The tape said wait; the Steelers did not. Jalen Rivers went at pick No. 225, a good 154 picks before the board was ready. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
