The board owed the Steelers one, and it paid up: Dylan Sampson, the No. 65 name on the board, sitting there at Round 5, Pick 24 like a gift left on the doorstep.

Reaching for Truss left real value on the table behind him. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
