Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Broncos and Hall: D.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Broncos, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Put together, it is a D.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Hall at that price is a win they earned.

They are betting Clark proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In the 30th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
The board fumbled Kenyon Sadiq all the way to pick 38, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick94 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. is a better player than No. 94 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick100 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton at pick No. 100 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick120 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
No drama and no debate, Keylan Rutledge went about where he belonged in slot 120. It fills a real need, too.
Pick162 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
A straight-up fair deal on Aamil Wagner at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick199 Rnd6 Bud Clark
A conviction pick on Bud Clark at Round 6, Pick 20 that the board grades a round light. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick251 Rnd7 Cole Payton
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cole Payton at the Round 7 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick255 Rnd7 TJ Hall
TJ Hall at the 255th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
