Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Broncos got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Broncos did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In slot 30 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Jonah Elliss
No edge and no loss on Jonah Elliss in No. 44; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick97 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis in the 97th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick114 Rnd4 Max Melton
They did well to land Max Melton in Round 4, Pick 14, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick120 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
They took Justin Eboigbe at par in the 122nd pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick146 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ben Sinnott. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick237 Rnd7 Phil Jurkovec
They paid sticker price for Phil Jurkovec in pick No. 237, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
