Draft Grade — Browns

FutureA
The Browns lost the trade table, and the D+ tells the story. The Browns looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Akheem Mesidor at the 241st overall pick regardless, 61 picks early.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. However the rest shakes out, Moss at that price is a win they earned. The Browns paired the rookies with proven help, Matthew Stafford leading the way.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
A slide stopped in the 20th pick, with Jeremiyah Love worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick21
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In slot 21 they get a lockdown presence outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick31
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In No. 31 they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick38
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq slipping to the Round 2 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
Pick43
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Good price on Anthony Hill Jr. in Round 2, Pick 11, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick48
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Value with a capital V on Jake Slaughter in pick 48, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick63
Rnd2
Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick80
Rnd3
Eric Singleton Jr.
Eric Singleton Jr. at the 80th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cayden Green
No drama and no debate, Cayden Green went about where he belonged in the 88th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104
Rnd4
A.J. Haulcy
A safety of that caliber at pick 104 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick149
Rnd5
Darius Taylor
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Darius Taylor well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick241
Rnd7
Akheem Mesidor
Value said wait; Akheem Mesidor in Round 7, Pick 24 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick243
Rnd7
Miller Moss
Somehow Miller Moss was still sitting there in slot 243, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
