Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
C-

FutureA+
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Mondon Jr.: C-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Smael Mondon Jr. got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at the 169th overall pick. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C- in the wash.
The cost of the Dart reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In pick No. 4 they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
A slide stopped in the 34th pick, with Nick Emmanwori worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick48
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
A tight end of that caliber at slot 65 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick93
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at No. 93 is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick94
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Somehow Jayden Higgins was still sitting there in pick 94, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102
Rnd4
Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson in Round 4, Pick 1 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick105
Rnd4
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart in the 105th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jake Majors
Jake Majors at the Round 5 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
Pick166
Rnd5
Cam Skattebo
The board fumbled Cam Skattebo all the way to the 166th pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169
Rnd5
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. in slot 169 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick172
Rnd5
Shemar Turner
Shemar Turner at pick 172 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
