A costly weekend of dealing drags the Browns to a D+.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Browns spent the 254th overall pick on J.J. Weaver, a name the board had a full 123 spots lower. The process wobbled, and the D+ is where it lands.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and safety is still a hole.
