The Browns let Gordon II fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Ollie Gordon II, the No. 51 name on the board, stolen at the 104th overall pick. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Williams has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In the 12th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Carson Beck
A tidy little value on Carson Beck in pick No. 33, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick68
Rnd3
Tyleik Williams
A reach on Tyleik Williams in the 68th overall pick; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick104
Rnd4
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in No. 104 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick119
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
They robbed the room for Kevin Winston Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
