Draft Grade — Browns
Overall C+
ValueA NeedB TradesF FutureB
The Browns let Hancock fall into their laps, and walked away with a C+.

The board owed the Browns one, and it paid up: Jordan Hancock, the No. 71 name on the board, sitting there at No. 222 like a gift left on the doorstep. The final tally is a middling C+.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in the 34th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick49 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Steal is underselling it; Kenneth Grant at No. 49 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick61 Rnd2 Quinshon Judkins
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jabbar Muhammad
They will replay Jabbar Muhammad at Round 3, Pick 17 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick95 Rnd3 Earnest Greene III
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 95 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick96 Rnd3 Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland at pick 96 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick98 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Parker Brailsford in pick No. 98, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick107 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson at the 107th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick135 Rnd5 Dylan Fairchild
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dylan Fairchild at slot 135. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick190 Rnd6 Cam Ward
Cam Ward in the 190th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock at pick No. 222 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
