Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The Browns let Adams fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Isaiah Adams got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at the 164th overall pick.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick66 Rnd3 Graham Barton
Graham Barton at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick89 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
The board fumbled Ja'Lynn Polk all the way to pick 89, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick96 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They read the board right and TreVeyon Henderson was the payoff at slot 96. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick138 Rnd5 J. Michael Sturdivant
J. Michael Sturdivant at pick No. 138 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick164 Rnd5 Isaiah Adams
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 28 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick204 Rnd6 Darius Muasau
Darius Muasau at the 204th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick210 Rnd6 Sam Hartman
Taking Sam Hartman in No. 210 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick231 Rnd7 Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones in the 231st overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
