Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

FutureA+
The Browns let Henderson fall into their laps, and walked away with a D+. Thirty-one other rooms let TreVeyon Henderson slide, and the Browns were the ones holding the card at Round 5, Pick 29. Highway robbery. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Howard pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The Browns paired the rookies with proven help, Jacoby Brissett leading the way. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Omarion Hampton
In pick No. 30 they get an every-down engine for the run game, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick31
Rnd1
Tate Ratledge
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Cameron Williams
They paid sticker price for Cameron Williams in the 35th pick, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick37
Rnd2
Jack Sawyer
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jack Sawyer. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick59
Rnd2
Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at slot 59 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in No. 69 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick94
Rnd3
Smael Mondon Jr.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in Round 3, Pick 30 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick104
Rnd4
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick 104 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105
Rnd4
Jake Majors
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at the 105th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick108
Rnd4
Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra at the 108th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick116
Rnd4
Darrell Jackson Jr.
They robbed the room for Darrell Jackson Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick143
Rnd5
Jay Higgins
You do not let a linebacker like Jay Higgins reach slot 143 and blink. They did not. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick167
Rnd5
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 5, Pick 29 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168
Rnd5
Omarr Norman-Lott
No edge and no loss on Omarr Norman-Lott in pick 168; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick181
Rnd6
Daylen Everette
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 6 slot with a little surplus value in Daylen Everette. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick187
Rnd6
Ricky White III
A tidy little value on Ricky White III in No. 187, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick214
Rnd6
Will Howard
Will Howard in Round 6, Pick 39 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
