Steparko23 DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bears a B-. The Bears looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Trey Zuhn III at pick 163 regardless, 35 picks early. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Thieneman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In pick 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at slot 57 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
A straight-up fair deal on Jacob Rodriguez at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick129
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mike Washington Jr.. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick163
Rnd5
Trey Zuhn III
A wild overpay on Trey Zuhn III in No. 163, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
