Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Fentrell Cypress II, taking him 85 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Fairchild at that price is a win they earned.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Tyleik Williams
They liked Tyleik Williams enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 1, Pick 23. The roster fit checks out.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
They paid sticker price for Jayden Higgins in slot 54, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick87
Rnd3
Devin Neal
Nothing to complain about; Devin Neal went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick124
Rnd4
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild in the 124th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick159
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jack Nelson this early at the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick198
Rnd6
Thomas Fidone II
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Thomas Fidone II. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick237
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
Fair-plus on Jermari Harris, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick250
Rnd7
Fentrell Cypress II
This one needs a full-page explanation: Fentrell Cypress II in the 250th pick, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
