Simon should have been long gone. The Buccaneers pounced, and earned a B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cody Simon, the No. 135 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 19. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Every board in the league had Brooks lower, and that gap is the story. They will answer for taking linebacker early while interior defensive lineman, offensive lineman and other spots went begging.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
