The Buccaneers clearly saw something nobody else did in Malik Washington, taking him 30 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Getting Speights where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
