Draft Grade — Buccaneers

FutureB
The Buccaneers kept it disciplined and banked a B. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Buccaneers started one anyway for Javon Solomon, 23 picks ahead of schedule. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick34
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan in Round 2, Pick 2 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick57
Rnd2
Kiran Amegadjie
They paid a round early for Kiran Amegadjie in the Round 2 slot, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at the 89th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick92
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
They took Khyree Jackson at par in No. 92, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick93
Rnd3
Javon Solomon
They bypassed pressing needs at interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots to take Javon Solomon, an OLB-EDGE that was not the priority.
Pick103
Rnd4
Javon Foster
They paid up for Javon Foster at slot 103 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick125
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara in Round 4, Pick 25 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick128
Rnd4
Mason McCormick
They talked themselves into Mason McCormick at slot 128, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
By-the-book stuff, Jaylin Simpson at pick 137 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick165
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
A reasonable price with a little left over, Sione Vaki in the 165th overall pick. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick193
Rnd6
Erick All
Erick All in No. 193 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick220
Rnd6
Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at pick No. 220 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick246
Rnd7
Bub Means
A straight-up fair deal on Bub Means at the Round 7 slot, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
