The Buccaneers let Bassa fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Buccaneers were there to profit. Jeffrey Bassa, the No. 121 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot.
If Fortune pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. It is not that Campbell is a bad player; it is that the Buccaneers had louder needs to answer first.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
