The Buccaneers lost the trade table, and the D tells the story. The Buccaneers clearly saw something nobody else did in J.J. Weaver, taking him 134 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
However the rest shakes out, Jackson at that price is a win they earned. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. It is not that Simon is a bad player; it is that the Buccaneers had louder needs to answer first.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
