The Buccaneers won the night they stopped Starks from sliding. Grade: D-.

The phones were a trap the Buccaneers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

Reaching for Williams left real value on the table behind him. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Starks falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
