The Bears robbed the room for McCarthy. Final grade: A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.

However the rest shakes out, McCarthy at that price is a win they earned. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and linebacker still on the board. The Powers-Johnson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Bottom line, with Rome Odunze leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
