MsB DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers

FutureB-
The 49ers kept it disciplined and banked a B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The 49ers walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
They are betting Ogunbiyi proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Suamataia falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick59
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kingsley Suamataia in the 59th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick90
Rnd3
Jaylin Simpson
A quiet steal in pick 90: Jaylin Simpson for less than the market said. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick98
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
No drama and no debate, Blake Fisher went about where he belonged in pick No. 98. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127
Rnd4
Spencer Rattler
A straight-up fair deal on Spencer Rattler at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick177
Rnd6
Miyan Williams
A clean, defensible pick in No. 177 with a little surplus value in Miyan Williams. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205
Rnd6
Jestin Jacobs
Good price on Jestin Jacobs in slot 205, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick213
Rnd6
Bryson Nesbit
They took Bryson Nesbit at par in the 213th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick215
Rnd6
Willie Roberts
Willie Roberts at the 215th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
Pick248
Rnd7
Aki Ogunbiyi
A reach on Aki Ogunbiyi in No. 248; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
