Bull DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B-
ValueC+

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Steelers: B-. Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending pick 119 on Roger Rosengarten with quarterback, safety and other spots still wide open. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The Chambers pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In No. 20 they get a press-man option on the boundary. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick51
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier in the 51st overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick84
Rnd3
Jalen McMillan
They jumped the gun on Jalen McMillan, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98
Rnd3
Maason Smith
They paid up for Maason Smith at slot 98 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick119
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went offensive lineman with Roger Rosengarten while clear needs at quarterback, safety and other spots sat open.
Pick178
Rnd6
Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers in pick No. 178 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick195
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
A reach on Caedan Wallace in No. 195; the board had better options right there. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
