Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB+
The Giants answered their biggest question with Ward. Grade: C+.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A mixed bag that lands at C+.

Oladejo has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The TeSlaa steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick 5 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at slot 34 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick99 Rnd3 Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick105 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Good price on Zy Alexander in the 105th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick154 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans in Round 5, Pick 16 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick194 Rnd6 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A straight-up fair deal on Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at the 194th pick, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
A reach for Nazir Stackhouse in No. 200; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219 Rnd7 Kobe Hudson
Kobe Hudson at pick No. 219 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick246 Rnd7 Ja'Quinden Jackson
Steal is underselling it; Ja'Quinden Jackson at slot 246 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick255 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at the 255th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
