The rest of the league had time to spare on Ryan Flournoy; the Bills did not wait, grabbing him 40 spots ahead at slot 163.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Spending an early pick on cornerback with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

However the rest shakes out, Newton at that price is a win they earned. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left interior defensive lineman open, and the grade is the bill.
