The Bears left with their quarterback, and a D to match.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They will need Ugwu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
