The board owed the Jets one, and it paid up: Tahj Washington, the No. 187 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 7 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

They are betting Johnson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
