Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueC NeedA- TradesA+ FutureB-
Grand theft in the 137th overall pick: the Seahawks steal Johnson and grade out a B+.

Call it larceny. Tez Johnson sat on the board until the 137th pick, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

The cost of the Tuimoloau reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In the 20th pick they get protection for the quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick25 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
In the 25th overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea at Round 2, Pick 18 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jaxson Dart
You do not let a quarterback like Jaxson Dart reach No. 82 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85 Rnd3 Jake Majors
A real head-scratcher, Jake Majors in pick 85 is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
Taking Tez Johnson in slot 137 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick187 Rnd6 Jabbar Muhammad
Steal is underselling it; Jabbar Muhammad at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick212 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
They will replay Antwane Wells Jr. at pick No. 212 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236 Rnd7 Trevor Etienne
A slide stopped in the 236th overall pick, with Trevor Etienne worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
