Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureA
The Cardinals checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cardinals took Brevyn Spann-Ford at pick No. 139, roughly 43 spots before his name belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
However the rest shakes out, Moore at that price is a win they earned. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In pick No. 5 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick21
Rnd1
Bralen Trice
In pick 21 they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
A tidy little value on Terrion Arnold in the 34th pick, a step better than break-even. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick37
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
They jumped the gun on Kingsley Suamataia, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick66
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
They reached into another round for TreVeyon Henderson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70
Rnd3
Howard Cross III
No edge and no loss on Howard Cross III in the 70th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick85
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in the Round 3 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick102
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg in the 102nd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick133
Rnd4
Devontez Walker
They liked Devontez Walker enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 133. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick139
Rnd5
Brevyn Spann-Ford
A big swing on Brevyn Spann-Ford at pick 139, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in No. 169 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick198
Rnd6
Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray at pick No. 198 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
Brian Ugwu
Brian Ugwu at Round 7, Pick 3 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick226
Rnd7
Devin Leary
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Devin Leary. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
