Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cardinals: B-.

The needs board said one thing and the Cardinals did another, using No. 105 on Khyree Jackson while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots waited. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Guyton proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In pick 4 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In the 27th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Tampa at Round 2, Pick 3, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick66 Rnd3 Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo at slot 66 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick71 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
They did well to land Brenden Rice in pick 71, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick90 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick105 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
A curious use of the 105th overall pick. Quarterback, edge rusher and other spots needed the pick; a cornerback in Khyree Jackson did not.
Pick137 Rnd5 Cam Hart
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in pick No. 137; it is a wash and a sensible one. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick188 Rnd6 Javon Baker
Javon Baker in No. 188 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jared Wiley
A quiet steal in the 222nd overall pick: Jared Wiley for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick224 Rnd7 Jawhar Jordan
Jawhar Jordan in the 224th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
