Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cardinals spent the Round 4 slot on Tyler Baron, a name most had 40 spots down the list. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The Walker steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Will Campbell
Good price on Will Campbell in the 16th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick78 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
They talked themselves into Jared Wilson at the Round 3 slot, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick115 Rnd4 Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron in Round 4, Pick 13 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick196 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. at pick 196 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick225 Rnd7 Cam Horsley
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cam Horsley well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick228 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
The board had Jordan Hancock higher than pick No. 228, and the safety fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick250 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway in the 250th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
