Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Cardinals won the night they stopped Trapilo from sliding. Grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cardinals were there to profit. Ozzy Trapilo, the No. 85 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 4 slot.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Knight Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick47
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in Round 2, Pick 15 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick78
Rnd3
Omarr Norman-Lott
Nice patience on Omarr Norman-Lott, who had no business lasting to slot 78. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick115
Rnd4
Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo in the 115th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick152
Rnd5
Logan Brown
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Logan Brown at the 152nd pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
