You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bears took Devin Culp at the 256th overall pick, roughly 75 spots before his name belonged. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
