The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Jaylan Ford, the No. 206 name on the board, sitting there at No. 236 like a gift left on the doorstep.

The cost of the Wallace reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
