The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chiefs and Fairchild: B.

The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Dylan Fairchild fell into Round 7, Pick 40. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Walter Nolen in pick 133 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

Dylan Fairchild at Round 7, Pick 40 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
