The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chargers and Smith: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Chargers watched Ainias Smith slide 20 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The veteran additions, Cameron Heyward chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

They are betting Allen proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
