Draft Grade — Browns

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Browns for Majors: C. The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jake Majors fell into the Round 6 slot. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C.
The cost of the Badger reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In No. 7 they get a workhorse for the backfield at fair value.
Pick38
Rnd2
Jalen Milroe
They jumped the gun on Jalen Milroe, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals at pick 69 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick93
Rnd3
Luke Kandra
They paid up for Luke Kandra at the 93rd pick when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick98
Rnd3
Omarr Norman-Lott
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Omarr Norman-Lott reach the 98th overall pick and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Maxwell Hairston. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick105
Rnd4
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in Round 4, Pick 4 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick166
Rnd5
Smael Mondon Jr.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Smael Mondon Jr. in the Round 5 slot, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick183
Rnd6
Jake Majors
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at slot 183. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick187
Rnd6
Nicholas Singleton
They will replay Nicholas Singleton at Round 6, Pick 12 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick204
Rnd6
Elijah Arroyo
They let Elijah Arroyo come to them and pounced at the Round 6 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick213
Rnd6
DJ Campbell
A straight-up fair deal on DJ Campbell at the 213th pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick215
Rnd7
Fernando Carmona
A real head-scratcher, Fernando Carmona in No. 215 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick242
Rnd7
Elijhah Badger
They reached into another round for Elijhah Badger, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
