The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The 49ers put a flag in the ground for Justin Rogers, 55 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

On value alone, Berger makes the weekend a net positive. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
