Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B.

The Cardinals spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. The bottom line is a respectable B.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. They will need McCarthy to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy in Round 1, Pick 27 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
