You build a draft on nights like this. Cam Skattebo had no business being available in the 254th overall pick, and the Saints did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with edge rusher still staring back at them.
