Draft Grade — Dolphins

FutureB-
The Dolphins lost the trade table, and the D tells the story. The Logan Parr pick is the one that will follow the Dolphins into the fall. They took him 38 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Warren at that price is a win they earned.
They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In the 13th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Pick33
Rnd2
Jaxson Dart
They went early on Jaxson Dart in the 33rd pick, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick48
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
They will replay Tyler Warren at slot 48 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick94
Rnd3
Darien Porter
The board fumbled Darien Porter all the way to pick 94, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick98
Rnd3
Deone Walker
Deone Walker at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick104
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
A slide stopped in No. 104, with Darius Alexander worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick116
Rnd4
Tai Felton
Tai Felton at the 116th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick135
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer at pick No. 135 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick150
Rnd5
Luke Kandra
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Luke Kandra. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick155
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
By-the-book stuff, Bhayshul Tuten at No. 155 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick192
Rnd6
Clay Webb
Clay Webb in slot 192 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick200
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick216
Rnd6
Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. in Round 6, Pick 40 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick224
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Somehow Caleb Ransaw was still sitting there in the 224th pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick231
Rnd7
Logan Parr
They reached a country mile for Logan Parr at slot 231, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick253
Rnd7
Jalen Travis
They talked themselves into Jalen Travis at pick No. 253, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick255
Rnd7
Mac McWilliams
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mac McWilliams in Round 7, Pick 39. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
