Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a D to match.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bears, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The Braswell reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Adding Jordan Whitehead by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams at Round 1, Pick 1 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick10 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In pick 10 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A real head-scratcher, Chris Braswell in the 39th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in No. 74 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Javon Bullard
They let Javon Bullard come to them and pounced at slot 75. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
