Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Kinchens: C.

The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

On value alone, Kinchens makes the weekend a net positive. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. It is not that Hicks is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.

Every board in the league had All lower, and that gap is the story.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 9 they get a true top target at fair value.
Pick18 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Chop Robinson at No. 34, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick49 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
Taking Kamren Kinchens in pick 49 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick80 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
They went early on Braden Fiske in the 80th overall pick, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick110 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 110th pick on Jaden Hicks with running back, cornerback and other spots unsolved.
Pick125 Rnd4 Junior Colson
Junior Colson in the 125th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick146 Rnd5 Darius Robinson
They paid a round early for Darius Robinson in No. 146, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing is a better player than the Round 6 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick232 Rnd7 Erick All
Erick All in the 232nd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
