Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Dolphins for Royer: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Dolphins watched Joe Royer slide 36 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If Proctor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In pick 10 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Garrett Nussmeier
Garrett Nussmeier at Round 2, Pick 12 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy in the 75th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick86 Rnd3 Connor Lew
Connor Lew at pick No. 86 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick87 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
A clean, defensible pick in slot 87 with a little surplus value in Malachi Fields. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick110 Rnd4 Joe Royer
A tight end of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick151 Rnd5 Demond Claiborne
Nice patience on Demond Claiborne, who had no business lasting to No. 151. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick226 Rnd7 Josh Hoover
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Josh Hoover in the 226th overall pick, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
