The Cowboys answered their biggest question with Maye. Grade: D-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 42 spots for Eric Watts, and value like that does not grow back. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

Whatever Drake Maye becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Cowboys indulged a want in Kneeland while a need in tight end stayed open.

The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. McCaffrey falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
